10 Years Ago Today......

It has been 10 years since Todd and I said "I do!" I can't get over how time has gone by so fast, however, I still remember our wedding like it was yesterday! Taking a trip down memory lane on that day just brings a smile to my face. Our wedding had so many funny memorable moments like our mother's lighting every candle at the front of the church. They were so nervous they would have lit anything on fire that day. The only problem was that they lit our Unity Candle too. While the congregation watched me walk down the isle, our minister turned to put out the flame on the Unity Candle by licking his fingers so that the candle wouldn't smoke. That was a good thought, HOWEVER, when Todd and I went to light the Unity Candle it wouldn't light. While the singers were singing their song Todd and I tried frantically to light the candle and finally near the very end of the song the candle lights with a gigantic roar of applause from the audience. Another funny moment was after the reception. Todd went to get the car so that we could go home and get ready to leave for our Honeymoon. I didn't bring clothes to change into for the car ride home so I just wore my wedding dress home. As I waited for Todd outside the Paramount Theater, the Theater lets out and all these people walk out to go to their cars while staring at me in my wedding gown with no groom in sight. Oh the comments that were made. It was lovely!!

Anyways, our wedding was very special. I married the man of my dreams and now have 2 wonderful daughters that I wouldn't trade for the world. I still get chills when I think of Todd standing at the front of the church as I walked down the isle. It was one of the best days of my life!! To all of you that were a part of it....thank you. We love you!

A New Job!!!

Anderson, here I come. That's right...I have a new job at the Madison County Community Health Center. I start the job on Monday, March 16th. After 10 years of the Indianapolis "rat race" I am finally checking OUT! I am very excited about this new opportunity because not only will my commute be shorter but I will be closer to my girls. I can now eat lunch at school with Gracie more and she is so excited about that! Wish me luck!!

I Love You...Daddy

This is Sophie's new favorite phrase. We hear it all the time. On Sunday we went to the grocery store. Todd and I were not in the mood to be there long so I pushed the cart with Sophie and grabbed the items I needed while Todd and Gracie would go ahead and pick up things that they wanted. Everytime Todd would leave the isle or disappear for a minute or two Sophie would shout out.."I love you...daddy!" Other shoppers at the store were coming up to me and telling me how sweet that was. Honestly...I was a little annoyed. After all, I'm the one who carried her for 9 months. I'm the one that suffered from the morning sickness. I'm the one who delievered her. But then I started to give it a little more thought. Todd was there by my side for 9 months reminding me to take my medicine and vitamins. He was the one who did a lot of the cooking so that I didn't have to smell the food. He was the one standing next to me rooting me on in the delivery room. And today he is the one that gets up with her in the middle of the night when she cries out (well....most of the time). So daddy....as you read this blog....know that I love you too!

Congratulations Brad and Becky!

Todd's best friend from high school, Brad Smith, just called us and told us he not only got a promotion with the Indiana State Police but he and his wife will be having twins in August! How exciting for the both of them!! We wish them the best of luck during their pregnancy.

Yes Doctor...I Need Another Appointment!

I don't know about you, but I'm ready for temperatures in the upper 70s! This cold weather is wrecking havoc on the health of my poor family! Last week Sophie started wheezing and on top of that running yet another fever. When we got her to the doctor on Tuesday he informed us it was a bad cold that probably needed to be fought with an antibiotic. We started her on the meds immediately and within 24 hours her fever went away and she was breathing better. Just when we thought we might have dodged the bullet Gracie starts complaining of her throat hurting Thursday night. Of course Friday morning I dialed the doctor's office again to schedule yet ANOTHER appointment. The diagnosis.....Strep Throat. The doctor put her on an antibiotic and she started to feel better. Then yesterday she woke up with some major congestion causing her to wheeze a little. I ask....does it ever end? I'm ready to pack up my family and move to Florida for the rest of the winter! Oh, by the way, my poor niece has Bronchitis. These poor kids!

We are in the Potty Chair Phase!!

Sophie, our little 21 month old, has entered a new phase....THE POTTY CHAIR PHASE! Those of you who are parents know the excitement of this phase. Not only does this mean she is growing up but it means no more buying those expensive diapers!! Yesterday she came running into our family room while we were playing the Wii telling us she needed to go potty. Of course we rushed her to the bathroom to sit on her potty chair and what do you know....she really did have to go to the bathroom. We all applauded and screamed with excitement! We are so proud of her!!

A Merry Hoagland Christmas!!

Well, Santa came to the Hoagland household bringing lots of wonderful surprises. He brought roller skates for each of us, an MP3 Player for Gracie and a new dolly and high chair for Sophie. It's so fun watching the kids go over all their gifts. I love the way Sophie gasps everytime she opens a gift from us or sees something Santa brought. However, as I go over all the presents from Christmas the best gift of all has been the Wii. We can't stop playing. Even Gracie is hooked!! It's almost an addiction. Opps, it looks like I'm up to bowl. Gotta Go!

My Motto for Christmas!

Those Dreaded Words

Yesterday, I got a phone call at work from Karen at Sophie's daycare with those dreaded words, "We have a problem....". Yip, every parent dreads those words. Karen informed me that they were having problems keeping Sophie awake at school and that she was running a fever of 101. Oh...and she was vomiting. LOVELY! Quickly I contacted my family to go and rescue her. While they were enroute to the daycare I contacted the pediatrician on-call. They agreed to see her and good thing because her fever had shot up to 104 degrees. The diagnosis......a double ear infection. The doctor sent my parents home with a heavy-duty antibiotic and recommened lots of Tylenol and Motrin. Hopefully we got the medicine in time so that she can have a holly jolly Christmas! I will keep you posted.
